As the Spring Term comes to a close, we’re excited to share highlights from a busy and fun-filled few months at Clubland. 

Our Activities

As the chilly season rolled in, we had a blast exploring winter clothing by making our own mittens and bobble hats. We painted beautiful winter trees and snowballs, crafted dough snowmen, tried out a sticky ice experiment, made Cheerio bird feeders, and even whipped up some Ancient Maya hot chocolate.

For Chinese New Year, we got creative with Chinese lanterns, mosaic and spiral snakes, and baked some delicious Dragon cookies. During Children's Mental Health Week, we focused on what makes us happy, with ideas coming straight from the kids. We had fun making our own Pokémon cards, designing and naming unicorns, creating masks, and baking colourful rainbow cookies.

Valentine's 'Love' week was all about crafting pink playdough, heart wreaths, and cards. We decorated heart-themed cakes and threw a delightful Valentine’s tea party. Harry Potter week was pure magic as we made wizarding wands, mixed up Snape’s bubbling potion, sculpted clay Dragon’s eyes, and brewed some ‘Butter Beer’. For World Wildlife Day, we crafted animal bookmarks. On Shrove Tuesday, we flipped our own pancakes and picked out tasty toppings. Commonwealth Day had us designing flags, while Global Recycling Day was all about getting creative with junk modelling.

As spring made its entrance, we crafted 3D daffodils, fork-stamped tulips, and grew cress. For St Patrick’s Day, we made handprint leprechauns. We also explored spring animals and insects by crafting birds in trees, leaf insects, insect stick puppets, and handprint bees, and we learned about the lifecycle of a butterfly. Mothering Sunday was celebrated with handmade cards and spring bouquets. For Easter, we painted chicks, crafted bunny ears, made cards, and organized a fun Easter egg hunt.

As you can see we have had a very busy spring term! 

Food Menu 

We have been working hard on creating a rotational 4 week menu, offering a tasty mix of hot and cold snacks with crudité's on the side to enjoy. Here's what's been new for the spring term.

HOT – Hash Browns, Mini Muffin Pizzas with sliced peppers (a big hit as the most popular new snack!), Potato waffles & corn on the cob, along with some all-time favourites like Sausage, mash & gravy and spaghetti carbonara.

COLD – Pitta bread with Guacamole & sour cream, and don’t forget the classics – sandwiches & rolls, and wraps filled with all sorts of goodies like cheese, tuna mayo, ham, salami and egg mayo.

Next Term

We're super excited for the summer term and all the fun it promises! With hopefully lots of sunny days ahead, we've got plenty of outdoor activities lined up, like team games such as rounders and cricket, plus water and sand play, creative art, and cookery. As we step into the Summer term, please make sure your child has a hat with their name on it for those bright, sunny days! 🌞
