Clubland at The Royal Kent School

Breakfast & Afterschool Club for Reception to Year 6

We’re proud to offer both Breakfast and Afterschool Club care at The Royal Kent School for children from Reception to Year 6. Whether your child joins us in the morning, afternoon, or both – they’ll enjoy a welcoming, relaxed environment full of fun, friendship, and support.

Breakfast Club

Start the day with a smile (and a good breakfast)! Our Breakfast Club gives children a calm and friendly start to their morning, with time to eat, chat, and get ready for the school day.

  • Open: From 7:15am until the start of the school day
  • Cost per session: £8.00

We offer a selection of healthy breakfast options – from cereals and toast to fruit and yoghurt – to fuel little minds and bodies for the day ahead.

Afterschool Club

After school, children head over to Clubland where they’re greeted by our friendly team and offered a tasty snack before diving into the fun.

We’re based in the ICT Suite and Library, and make full use of the school’s excellent facilities including the hall, playground, MUGA, trim trail, field, and kitchen.

Children enjoy a mix of adult-led activities and free play, with popular choices like:

  • Outdoor games and team sports
  • Craft and cookery
  • Construction kits, board games, puzzles
  • Just Dance, Top Trumps, and more

It’s a great way for children to unwind, try new things, and enjoy their time with friends.

  • Open: From school pick-up until 6:00pm
  • Cost per session: £21.00

Discounts Available

  • 5% Sibling Discount for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th child attending the same session
  • Book every day (Mon–Fri) to receive 5% off your total weekly childcare cost

Ofsted

At our latest Ofsted inspection in 2018, the setting was rated as 'Good' and the inspector comments that our staff are caring and interested in the children's needs, responding promptly to their requests. She also highlights the good relationships with have with both parents and the school. The full report is available above to download.

The full report is available online to download.

Safety and Security

In line with school policy, all children are escorted to Clubland by members of the teaching staff and a register is taken. We will share with school a daily register of children attending, but as this is not updated automatically we ask that you log onto your account to reflect an absence of attendance or leave  a text message on the site phone.

When you collect your child/ren, you will be required to sign our daily register or during Covid times we will sign out on your behalf provided that you are on the collectors list and we are able to identify you. If you are unknown to staff on collection you will be asked for the password that you nominated on your registration form as a means of identity.

All our Policies and Procedures are available online.
