About Clubland at The Royal Kent School

Our Afterschool Club is available to all children from Reception to Year 6. We have been running for over 10 years and our provision has gone from strength to strength.  Sally the manager has a wealth of experience working with children and is supported by  experienced Playworkers.

The club is based in the ICT suite within the school which enables the children to thrive in their own school habitat with the opportunity to chill, play, challenge themselves and form closer bonds with their peers. We have a vast array of play equipment and offer a range of adult-led activities each day. In addition to the ICT suite, the children have access to the cookery room, school hall, playground, field, MUGGA and Trim Trail.

The staff and children have adapted their environment to provide them with scope for lots of physical and practical skills and they engage a wide range of activities such as den building, trim trail challenges, ball/group games which all help develop cognitive and life skills. As well as free play, a daily adult-led activity is provided which may be cooking, craft, quizzes, or a sports activity.

At our latest Ofsted inspection in 2018, the setting was rated as 'Good' and the inspector comments that our staff are caring and interested in the children's needs, responding promptly to their requests. She also highlights the good relationships with have with both parents and the school. The full report is available above to download.

Safety and Security

In line with school policy, all children are escorted to Clubland by members of the teaching staff and a register is taken. We will share with school a daily register of children attending, but as this is not updated automatically we ask that you log onto your account to reflect an absence of attendance or leave  a text message on the site phone.

When you collect your child/ren, you will be required to sign our daily register or during Covid times we will sign out on your behalf provided that you are on the collectors list and we are able to identify you. If you are unknown to staff on collection you will be asked for the password that you nominated on your registration form as a means of identity.

All our Policies and Procedures are available online.
