To Our Long Ditton Infant School Families,
As the Summer term begins, we’re excited to share highlights from a busy and fun-filled Spring term at Clubland.
Staffing
You might have noticed a new face around lately - we're thrilled to welcome Monique to our team! She'll be with us on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Monique is already a familiar friend to all the kids at LDI, as she works as a TA during the day and then joins us for after-school fun. The children have been absolutely delighted to have Monique with us, and she's been such a cheerful addition to our team!
Activities and Fun
This last term at Clubland has been bustling with creativity and fun. Our winter crafts included making delightful paper animals like polar bears, penguins, owls, and birds, alongside snowman crafts and snowflakes. Celebrating the Chinese New Year, the children engaged in crafting various snakes, paper chains, and bookmarks. During Children’s Mental Health Week, we focused on emotional well-being with activities like creating feelings monsters and a "How Am I Feeling" wheel. Valentine's Day was filled with love-themed crafts such as love bugs, love Gonks, mosaic hearts, cards, and gift boxes. Our space theme inspired paper rockets, moon and star crafts, and even a space board game. As Spring approached, we crafted daisies, snowdrops, and paper flower crowns. St. Patrick’s Day was marked with a shamrock mosaic, while our weather theme included making a paper plate weather station, umbrella crafts, and sun crafts. Easter brought the joy of creating chicks, bunnies, Easter eggs, and participating in an egg hunt.
In the afternoons, we embraced the outdoors, enjoying activities on the trim trail, football pitch, and playground. The children loved playing football and tennis, running around, and engaging in imaginative games like putting Clubland staff in "jail."
Indoors, the children’s favorite toys and games included K’nex, wooden and foam bricks, cars, transformers, ponies, and a puppy hotel. Card games like Uno and Top Trumps were also popular, along with the energetic Danny Go Dance. Every day featured a craft activity, which was a big hit, and the children delighted in coloring and drawing.
Next Term
We're super excited for the Summer term and all the fun it promises! With hopefully lots of sunny days ahead, we've got plenty of outdoor activities lined up, like team games such as what's the time Mr Wolf, Duck Duck Goose and hopscotch, plus water and sand play and creative art. As we step into the Summer term, please make sure your child has a hat with their name on it for those bright, sunny days! 🌞
Keeping Up-To-Date
To ensure we have all the correct information for your child, please review their details on MagicBooking. It’s essential for smooth operations and safety, including emergency contacts, collection arrangements, and allergy details.
