14th December 2023

Dear Parents and Carers,

It's been a wonderful first term back and it's been great to welcome so many new reception children. They have settled in exceptionally well, fully immersing themselves in our activities and forming wonderful new friendships. We greatly appreciate the support of the other children through our buddy system, which has promoted unity and kindness amongst the children.

Our activities

This term has been filled with endless fun inside due to the sunsetting earlier. As evident from the photos, the children have been engrossed in a world of creativity, utilizing various resources. The modelling clay has been a favourite, inspiring the children to craft astonishing creations, just like that impressive spider! The hammer and nails activity has also been immensely popular, requiring turn-taking skills and fostering cooperation between the children. They have really enjoyed having the opportunity to use different shapes and materials to bring a fabulous person to life.

Outside, building dens and wearing head torches have emerged as a favourite activity amongst the children, and they transformed the sand pit into a hub of construction and idea-sharing, crafting stepping stones along the way. And of course, there has been plenty of free play outdoors, allowing the children to play football, explore the adventure playground, share their imagination, and simply have the freedom to laugh together.

Christmas festivities

The festive season has brought so much joy as the children eagerly decorated our Christmas tree, carefully placing each ornament with pure delight on their faces - we're sure they've been just as careful at home!

To make things even more exciting, the children have been colouring in our Christmas pictures and engaging in conversations about Father Christmas and the amazing presents he might bring. Their imaginations have been running wild as they imagine the delightful surprises that await them on Christmas morning.

The anticipation and joy of Christmas are heightened by our special advent calendar. Each day, the children at Clubland receive a unique advent gift, adding to their excitement as they eagerly count down the days until the big celebration.

As the end of term approaches, we'll be celebrating all things Christmassy with fun party games, delicious party food, and, most importantly, having a blast!
