We’re looking for Support Workers to join our holiday club team, helping our Playworkers and Managers create fun, safe and exciting days for children.
This is a brilliant opportunity for 14–16 year olds looking for their first job or some paid work experience, as well as anyone who has recently left secondary school and is looking for flexible holiday work.
No two days are the same. You could be helping set up a craft activity in the morning, preparing snacks, getting stuck into a sports game and then helping tidy everything away before the end of your shift.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you’ll help the wider holiday club team with things like:
- Setting up the fun – prepare play spaces and get activities ready before children arrive.
- Food and snacks – help prepare and serve snacks and keep the kitchen clean and organised.
- Getting activities ready – set up adult-led activities such as crafts, sports and cookery.
- Get involved – support Playworkers to run crafts, sports, cookery and other activities.
- Support the team – help Playworkers and Managers look after the children and make sure everyone has a safe, happy day.
- Keep things tidy – clear up after activities and help make sure craft areas, the kitchen, play spaces and toilets are left clean and tidy.
- Be part of the team – get stuck in, use your initiative and help wherever you’re needed.
About You
You don’t need previous childcare experience for this role. We’re looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, reliable and willing to get stuck in
- Happy working as part of a team
- Enthusiastic and positive
- Responsible and able to follow instructions
- Comfortable working around children
- Keen to learn and try new things
- Not afraid of a bit of mess!
You might be looking for your first ever job, some work experience or a way to earn money during the school holidays. Whatever your experience, we’ll give you the support you need to get started.
The Practical Bits
- Location: Clubland Holiday Club, Oxshott, Surrey
- Hours: Shifts are a maximum of 4 hours per day
- Available shifts: 08:00–12:00, 11:00–15:00 or 14:00–18:00
- School holidays: We’re recruiting generally for holiday club work, with an urgent need for October Half Term: Monday 19 October – Friday 30 October 2026
- Contract: Casual, variable hours
- Job share: Multiple Support Workers are recruited to cover the full holiday club day, so you can work around your school or other commitments.
Pay
If you are still in secondary education:
- £8.00 per hour, plus 12.07% holiday pay
- £8.97 per hour including holiday pay
If you have completed your GCSEs and left secondary school:
- £10.85 per hour, plus 12.07% holiday pay
- £12.16 per hour including holiday pay
Work Permits
If you are still in education and are aged under 16, you will need a work permit from Surrey County Council.
